Orange-Maple Pistachio-Crusted Easter Ham

This tender, spiral-sliced ham is glazed with a sweet and tangy orange-maple sauce, then finished with a crunchy pistachio crust. Ideal for a special occasion, this dish is both elegant and delicious. Found in our 2025 Spring Gatherings magazine.
- Preheat oven to 325°. Place ham, cut side down, on rack in large roasting pan; let stand
- at room temperature 30 minutes. Pour 2 cups water into pan. Loosely cover ham with aluminum foil; bake 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 90°.
- In small saucepan, whisk maple syrup, orange juice, sugar and butter; heat to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 5 minutes or until slightly thickened, whisking occasionally. Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
- Remove ham from oven; brush with some glaze. Bake ham, uncovered, 45 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 130°, brushing with glaze every 15 minutes and sprinkling with 1/2 cup pistachios during last 15 minutes of baking.
- Loosely cover ham with aluminum foil; let stand 15 minutes before serving. (Internal temperature will rise to 140° upon standing.) Serve ham with remaining glaze and pistachios.
