You come home after a busy day, exhausted and ready to sit down and take off your shoes. Then it comes – “what’s for dinner?” You don’t have the energy to cook, so you order take-out. Everyone’s been there.
With the weather getting cooler, now is the perfect time to put your slow cooker to work. Just start it in the morning and come home to a cooked meal made with real, nutritious foods.
- 2 Pound beef stew meat, cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 Cup baby carrots (2 cups = about 8 oz)
- 2 Cup sliced celery
- 2 can (8 oz each) Hunt's® Tomato Sauce with Basil, Garlic and Oregano
- 1/2 Cup chopped onion
- PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
- 1 Pound small red-skinned potatoes, cut into quarters
- 1/4 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 Teaspoon ground black pepper
What to do:
- Spray inside of 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Stir together tomato sauce, Worcestershire, salt and pepper in slow cooker. Add beef; stir to combine. Top with onion, celery, carrots and potatoes.
- Cover; cook on LOW 8 hours or on HIGH 4 hours or until meat and vegetables are tender.
Serve with your favorite bread or biscuits for a delicious, hot meal your family will love!
Helpful tips: if you need to adjust the time on a recipe, one hour on LOW is generally equal to ½ hour on HIGH. If you have any food stuck to the bottom of the pot, sprinkle with baking soda and enough hot water to cover the burned food, then let sit for 30 minutes. The baking soda will help loosen the remains.
