Price Chopper to Help Community Organizations through Donations at the Register

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Price Chopper is launching a Community Assistance Initiative to raise funds for 29 local charities that provide direct relief to area residents. The initiative, which runs through the month of October,  will collect donations at the register for programs that provide direct assistance to residents, including help with food, utility bills, school supplies and more.

“There’s so much need right now,” said Casie Broker, Price Chopper’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We want to spark neighbors-helping-neighbors.  That’s why we worked to find organizations in each part of the Kansas City metro that really help with the basics.  Price Chopper is owned by four families that work and live right here in Kansas City, so we see the need.”

The initiative focuses on organizations near each Price Chopper store so shoppers will be donating to organizations that directly support their local community.

People can donate at the register in $1, $5 or $10 increments at any of Price Chopper’s 52 stores.Following the campaign, charitable organizations will receive 100 percent of the funds raised, offering a boost before the holidays.

“We’re lucky to have so many organizations dedicated to offering residents a safety net during these challenging times,” said Broker. “We’re proud to be part of such a great community!”
