Price Chopper raises more than $35,000 for KC families

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – This summer, Price Chopper shoppers around the Kansas City area raised $35,889 to donate to Harvesters to help feed local food insecure families through Price Chopper’s annual No School = No Lunch campaign

The donations which were collected at all 50 Greater Kansas City Price Choppers at the checkout registers, will help provide more than 100,000 meals. Shoppers raised  over $10,000 more than the campaign last year. Donations will aid families whose children are home during summertime and not receiving any meals at school.

“When students are out of school it can be difficult for some families to replace the meals that schools usually provide,” said Jessica Crozier, Price Chopper Spokesperson. “We’re proud to be able to help and Price Chopper customers have once again stepped up to help fill that gap by donating food and funds to Harvesters through our summer hunger campaign.”

This concluded the 11th year that Price Chopper has hosted No School = No Lunch. Throughout the lifetime of the campaign, Price Chopper shoppers have donated more than $365,000 to help fight hunger during the summer months.
